Projects for young people

Based on the legacy of the survivors, the MKÖ provides numerous offers for young people. It is important to relate all of the educational programs to the realities of young people's lives. They aim to promote democratic awareness and togetherness as well as to break down prejudices and cultural barriers.

At regular intervals since 2014, the Austrian Association of Mauthausen Survivors and Mauthausen Committee Austria have presented the Hans-Maršálek Award for excellent achievement in the area of memorial, commemoration and consciousness work.

In 2000, Mauthausen Committee Austria committed itself to preserving and promoting the legacy of former CC prisoners. An important focus therefore includes activities against right-wing extremism. Mauthausen Committee Austria monitors, informs, documents and files criminal charges.
